A chill 3D disassembly puzzle

Take the burr
apart.

Unburrun- (undo) + burr (an interlocking puzzle)

Take a burr apart, and put it back together when you feel like it. No move counts, no timers — a puzzle to turn over slowly while your mind wanders.

The Unburr screen (prototype, Japanese UI). A six-piece burr of wooden sticks floats on a pale wood-colored background. The puzzle name “671 · 6 pieces” is at the top, and round buttons for undo, start over, hint, see-through and sound are at the bottom.

Apart, and back

Slide one piece at a time, and let the burr come undone.

Trace a piece with your finger and it slides that way. Find the order and the path out, and when every piece is free, you are done. If you feel like it, put it back the way it was. Take apart, put back — it never has to end.

  1. A six-piece burr, assembled.

    Assembled

    Every puzzle starts fully assembled.

  2. A twelve-piece burr partway through: some pieces have slid out of the burr.

    Coming apart

Find a piece that can move, and ease it out.

  3. A nine-piece burr taken completely apart: nine differently shaped pieces lie separated, and a medal marks the puzzle as solved.

    All apart

Then, if you like, put it back together.

Screens are from the prototype in development (Japanese UI).
